Compact EtherCAT Drive for Low-Voltage Systems

The 5.8A EtherCAT Stepper Servo Drive 2HSS57C-EC is a closed loop stepper drive designed for 24-48 VDC or 18-36 VAC supply and output current from 0 to 5.8 A. It brings a 32-bit ARM power-angle closed loop algorithm to machines that want the deterministic timing of EtherCAT on a lower-voltage bus, making it well suited to packaging cells and compact automation.

closed loop Performance

Torque Retention at Speed

The power-angle closed loop control algorithm maintains torque at medium and high speeds better than open-loop drives and, in some applications, allows the drive to replace a servo drive. The encoder feedback keeps the rotor synchronized with the commanded trajectory.

Repeatable Position

On cyclic machines, the closed loop removes the missed-step risk that produces scrap, so indexers and diverters hold their reference through long production runs.

Configuration Interface

A built-in keypad and digital tube display support direct configuration of slave ID, baud rate, and rotation direction, keeping basic commissioning on the machine instead of at a PC.

I/O and Signals

Five digital inputs provide homing reference, forward/reverse limit switches, and probe function. Three digital signals handle brake control, alarm, and in-position indication, so the line controller has the signals it needs for safe sequencing.

Specification Summary

  • Supply voltage: 24-48 VDC / 18-36 VAC
  • Output current: 0-5.8 A
  • Fieldbus: EtherCAT
  • Digital inputs: 5 (homing, limits, probe)
  • Digital signals: 3 (brake, alarm, in-position)

Applications

The 2HSS57C-EC suits factory automation, packaging machinery, compact CNC equipment, robotics, automated handling mechanisms, textile machinery, printing machinery, and food processing. Its low-voltage bus keeps the cabinet layout simple while EtherCAT coordinates multiple axes.

Panel Planning

When laying out the cabinet, reserve space for the drive’s heat dissipation and keep the 24-48 VDC bus wiring short and well-terminated. On machines with multiple axes, EtherCAT daisy-chaining keeps the cable count low while maintaining synchronized motion across the line.

Distributor Support

Lyenwsin provides this 5.8A EtherCAT Stepper Servo Drive with current-class matching and EtherCAT node guidance, so the drive pairs correctly with your stepper motor and network.
