The 86J0798EC-1000-LS is a 5-Phase closed loop Stepper Motor in a NEMA34 frame. It produces 4.1 N·m holding torque at only 1.4 A phase current, with a 98 mm body, a 14 mm shaft and an integrated 1,000 P/R encoder. The 5-phase construction differentiates it from 2-phase steppers in smoothness and current draw.
Five-phase steppers advance in smaller steps than comparable 2-phase designs, which reduces low-speed resonance and gives inherently smoother motion without electronic micro-stepping tricks. At the same 4.1 N·m holding torque the phase current is only 1.4 A, so the motor runs cooler and can be driven with a smaller power supply in many installations.
The integrated 1,000 P/R encoder closes the position loop. The drive corrects step error in real time, keeping the axis accurate under changing load. This combination is useful for printing and textile machines that index a web or a carriage and cannot tolerate drift.
