The iRSS60-36-30-17BC-RC/EC is an integrated closed-loop stepper motor with a 60 mm frame, 3.0 N·m holding torque and a 5.0 A rated current on 36 VDC. RS485, CAN and EtherCAT fieldbus are built in, together with a 17-bit absolute encoder. All drive electronics live in the motor housing.

Drive-plus-motor in a 60 mm package

This unit combines the driver stage with the motor, so panel space and cabling are reduced on every axis. For a machine with several 60 mm axes, the saving in wiring, connectors and cabinet volume is significant, and maintenance is simplified because each axis is a single replaceable unit.

Bus control and on-board loop

With RS485, CAN and EtherCAT, the axis joins existing control networks without pulse/direction converters. The closed loop runs inside the unit, using the 17-bit absolute encoder to correct position error continuously.

Feedback and position retention

The absolute encoder stores position across power cycles, eliminating re-homing on start-up. In packaging and handling lines, this shortens restart time after a power interruption and keeps the process sequence intact.

Engineering notes
