The 60J18100EC-1000-LS is a 3.5 Nm Closed Loop Stepper Motor in a NEMA 24 frame, rated 5.0 A per phase with 3.5 N·m holding torque. The 100 mm body and 8 mm shaft give it a middle-ground profile between NEMA 23 and NEMA 34, which suits machines that want the torque of a larger motor without its footprint.
Stepper motors run open loop by design: the drive commands steps and assumes they occur. This assumption fails when load torque approaches the pull-out limit. The motor carries an integrated 1,000 P/R encoder, so the drive continuously compares commanded position against actual rotor position. Missed steps are detected and corrected on the fly, which keeps registration accurate on long production runs.
Holding torque is specified with rated current at standstill. During operation the 5.0 A winding current generates heat proportional to duty. closed loop control reduces the standing current when the axis is idle, lowering temperature rise compared with an open-loop motor left at full excitation.
