The 60J1887EC-1000-LS is a 3 Nm Closed Loop Stepper Motor in an 87 mm NEMA 24 body, providing 3.0 N·m holding torque at 5.0 A per phase through an 8 mm shaft. It is positioned for automation cells that need moderate torque and a small footprint, and it can be driven by a matching closed loop stepper drive.
Without feedback, a stepper has no way to report whether the rotor actually moved when the drive sent a step command. The integrated 1,000 P/R encoder on this motor changes that. The drive sees real rotor position, detects any discrepancy between commanded and measured position, and applies correction current to recover. This matters on indexing and registration axes where a single lost step creates a rejected part.
Holding torque is a standstill value. As speed rises, available torque falls because the winding inductance limits current rise time. closed loop drives recover part of this loss with dynamic current control, and the lower standing current during idle phases reduces motor heating in continuous-duty applications.
The motor is applied in packaging machinery, factory automation, precision robotic mechanisms, textile and printing machinery, food processing, automated handling mechanisms, and precision positioning mechanisms for battery equipment. The 3.0 N·m rating is a practical fit for battery cell handling and light index tables that must hold position under load.
