Closed-Loop Control: Removing the Assumption From Open-Loop Stepping

A conventional stepper system commands position without verifying it. If the rotor stalls under a transient overload, the controller has no way to detect the loss. The 86J1895EC-1000-LS integrates a 1,000 P/R encoder and reports actual rotor position to the drive, which corrects any discrepancy. This eliminates the silent missed-step failure mode and lets the axis recover from brief overload rather than require a home cycle.

Speed and Torque Relationship

Holding torque is a standstill specification. As speed increases, torque drops because the winding cannot build full current within each electrical cycle.
