The 42J1860-417 is the largest NEMA17 (42 mm) motor in this range at 60 mm, rated 0.70 N·m at 1.7 A with a 5 mm shaft. It is a 2-phase stepper suited to applications requiring the full torque availability of the NEMA17 frame, such as 3D printers and small laboratory stages.
At 0.70 N·m the longer stator stack moves heavier print carriages, dual-extruder heads and microscope-stage loads. The 1.7 A current and 5 mm shaft remain inside the common NEMA17 ecosystem, keeping existing drivers and couplings usable.
In 3D printers the motor drives X/Y carriages and the extruder with torque to maintain feed without layer shift. In laboratory automation it positions stages and probes with repeatable micro-step resolution.
For medical mechanisms that require quiet, precise, low-inertia motion, the low-vibration construction and moderate current make the motor a compatible axis drive.
