The iESSL60-36-35-17BC-RC is an RS485+CAN closed loop Stepper Motor with 3.5 N·m holding torque, 5.0 A phase current, and a 17-bit absolute encoder, supplied in a 60 mm frame with the drive integrated. It is the serial-bus variant of the 60 mm closed loop family for machines that do not run EtherCAT, and it serves controllers that use either the RS485 physical layer or a CAN network.
Both RS485 and CAN are available on this unit, so the same part can serve controllers that use either physical layer. Multi-axis topologies are wired as a daisy chain or bus segment, and each unit is addressed individually.
The closed loop uses the 17-bit absolute encoder to hold position against load variation. At power-up the axis knows its rotor position, avoiding the reference run that open-loop steppers need after an unexpected stop.
The drive-integrated design shortens power wiring and reduces the number of drives inside the control cabinet. As with all integrated units, mounting the frame to a heat sink and keeping the housing ventilated preserves the full duty capability. On machines that mix RS485 and CAN devices, the dual-interface design lets one part number cover both connection types, which simplifies spare parts planning.
When choosing between the RS485 and CAN interfaces, match the physical layer to the controller you already have and confirm the baud rate and node addressing plan before wiring the bus segment. For daisy-chain topologies, plan the wiring order and cable lengths to stay within the bus specification.
