The MCAC845-23B is a Low-Voltage Servo Drive 90A unit that outputs up to 90 A on a 24-60 VDC bus, sized for low-voltage axes carrying higher loads while still operating from a DC supply.
This current class serves axes between light indexing and full heavy duty. Industrial automation uses it on medium press feeders and rotary turntables that need firm acceleration. Packaging machines run case tapers and multi-head fillers where the axis must track a moving product. Robotics uses the 90 A headroom on mid-size shoulder and elbow joints, and inspection equipment drives precision mill tables. In semiconductor it powers wafer handling stages, while medical instrumentation relies on it for controlled syringe and sample-dispenser motion. Printing machinery uses it to hold register on heavy inking and plate rolls during fast web changes.
Both incremental and absolute encoders are supported, letting accuracy be tuned to cost. A 625 kHz current-loop sample rate and three selectable PWM frequencies allow matching to the motor and reducing acoustic and vibration issues.
Single-parameter stiffness setting, one-click auto-tuning, automatic vibration and resonance suppression, and one-click resonance detection cut setup effort. All parameters are written over a single USB cable; Type-C and RS485 are available.
Match the 90 A rating to your motor’s peak demand so thermal margin remains during repeated cycles, and confirm your DC supply holds voltage under the inrush. Use the ARM+FPGA loop and single-parameter stiffness to tune quickly, then verify resonance suppression on the production floor. The 4 DI / 3 DO are enough for cam, clamp and fault signals on most cells. Protections include overvoltage, undervoltage, overspeed and overload.
