The MCAC8A0-23B is a Low-Voltage Servo Drive 200A unit extending the MCAC series to a 200 A maximum output on a 24-60 VDC supply, covering low-voltage axes that must deliver substantial torque from a compact, battery-friendly bus.
This is the drive to choose when a low-voltage machine must move a heavy load quickly. On heavy industrial automation it powers press-feed and large indexing tables where high peak current is needed to snap the axis into position. In packaging, high-speed case erectors and palletizers need the surge current to overcome inertia on large cranks. Robotics cells running big wrist and base joints, plus semiconductor load/unload robots, use the current headroom to keep settling time short under transient load. On printing machines it drives heavy impression cylinders that must accelerate and decelerate without losing registration.
It accepts both incremental and absolute encoders, so machine builders can choose feedback cost versus resolution. Closing the position loop on an absolute encoder avoids the homing run; incremental keeps cost low on simpler axes.
625 kHz current sampling with three selectable PWM frequencies plus automatic vibration and resonance suppression keeps the axis quiet even at high current. Single-parameter stiffness, one-click auto-tuning and one-click resonance detection accelerate commissioning, served over Type-C and RS485.
At 200 A the upstream DC wiring and bus capacitance are critical. Size the supply rails so peak demand does not collapse the 24-60 VDC bus during acceleration, and use the ARM+FPGA current loop to set stiffness from a single parameter before letting one-click auto-tuning finish the job on the actual machine. Keep 4 DI / 3 DO points in mind when laying out external interlocks and clamps. Protection covers overvoltage, undervoltage, overspeed and overload to guard the motor and machine through faults.
