The 130J12205EC-17BC-SC is a NEMA 52 closed-loop stepper motor with an integrated brake, rated at 28 N·m holding torque in a 205 mm body. It offers most of the torque of the 225 mm variant while leaving more space for coupling and mounting hardware.
The built-in brake engages when power is removed, so a vertical spindle or a heavy rotary load cannot drop or drift after a stop command or an emergency stop. This makes the motor a practical choice for axes that must remain position-locked without continuous energization.
An integrated 17-bit encoder reports rotor position to the drive. Because the control loop sees actual position, the system can recover from momentary overloads rather than accumulating step loss, and torque output can be managed against the measured load.
Rotary indexers, textile machinery, and automated handling mechanisms benefit from the combination of brake and closed-loop feedback. It is also well matched to CNC axes that need fail-safe behavior during a power outage.
