The 130J12225EC-17BC is a 3-phase closed-loop stepper motor in a NEMA 52 frame, rated 6.8 A per phase with 35 N.m holding torque and a 24 mm shaft. With a 225 mm body, it is designed for heavy-load axes where conventional 2-phase steppers run out of torque.
Three-phase construction produces a smoother torque profile than a comparable 2-phase motor, with lower vibration across the speed range. The integrated 17-bit encoder closes the position loop: the drive knows the actual rotor angle to high resolution and corrects any deviation from the commanded position immediately. On large rotary tables and CNC axes, that means no missed steps even when the load torque varies.
Holding torque is the standstill rating with rated current. At running speed, torque falls as the winding builds current against its inductance; the 6.8 A rating defines the thermal budget. Closed-loop control reduces standing current during dwell, which limits temperature rise on machines that hold position for long periods between moves.
The motor is used in CNC machine tools, packaging machinery, factory automation, precision robotic mechanisms, textile and printing machinery, food processing, and automated handling mechanisms. Its 35 N.m rating supports heavy machining axes and large indexing loads where a servo would be expensive but an open-loop stepper would be marginal.
