The TA-131-L4 is a 16-Axis EtherCAT Motion Controller that brings compact DIN-rail packaging and a slide-in I/O expansion interface to machines with up to sixteen bus-controlled axes. Running an ARM A7 quad-core processor at 1.0 GHz with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage, it is well suited to packaging automation and robotics applications where installation speed and panel space matter.

Design and Installation

The DIN-rail mountable controller uses a lightweight plastic housing and rail clip for quick installation. Its slide-in I/O expansion interface allows I/O capacity to be increased module by module, which is convenient when the I/O count of a machine grows over time.

Motion and Expansion

This variant supports six pulse axes and up to 16 EtherCAT axes on a 4 ms cycle. A pulse expansion module can be added to control pulse-type drives, giving engineers the option to standardize on bus motion while keeping existing pulse drives in service.

I/O and Interfaces

Eight digital inputs and eight digital outputs are provided on board. The controller carries RS485, RS232, USB 2.0, EtherCAT, and EtherNet connections.
