Compact Mechanical Design

The TA-131-L5 is a compact motion controller in a lightweight plastic housing with a rail clip, so it mounts directly on a DIN rail inside an electrical cabinet. A slide-in I/O expansion interface lets additional I/O modules be added without disturbing the controller wiring.

Motion Control Paths

The controller provides six pulse axes and up to 32 EtherCAT axes on a 4 ms cycle. An optional pulse expansion module extends pulse-type drive control when the machine architecture calls for it. This flexibility is useful on packaging cells where some stations are retrofitted while others are new.

I/O and Connectivity

On-board I/O includes 8 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs. Communication interfaces are RS485, RS232, USB 2.0, EtherCAT, and EtherNet.
