The 2.8A EtherCAT closed loop Stepper Drive 2HCS528-EC is a compact digital-display closed loop stepper drive intended for lower-current EtherCAT axes. It runs off a single 24 VDC rail and supplies up to 2.8 A of output current, so it pairs best with NEMA-sized stepper motors suited to light and mid-dynamic loads. A 32-bit ARM core drives the power-angle closed loop algorithm that keeps torque stable as speed climbs.
Powering the axis from 24 VDC removes the need for a separate higher-voltage rail, simplifying the cabinet. The 2.8 A output matches smaller motors, keeping thermal loading modest in enclosed automation.
On an EtherCAT network this drive coordinates with peer axes under one master, useful for small machines where multiple axis types coexist. Deterministic timing keeps homing and in-position events repeatable.
Even at the low end of the current range, the closed loop algorithm keeps the rotor synchronized, protecting small steppers from missed steps during acceleration.
Setup uses the keypad and digital tube display for slave ID, baud rate, and rotation direction, with the I/O set reserved for homing, limits, and probe functions.
