ProfiNET Closed-Loop Stepper Drive with Digital Display

The 2HSS858H-PN belongs to the digital-display branch of the fieldbus closed-loop stepper family and is built around ProfiNET. A 32-bit ARM processor runs a power-angle closed-loop algorithm that holds torque at medium and high speeds, allowing this drive to absorb a portion of the workload normally reserved for servo systems. It accepts a wide 24-70VAC or 48-110VDC supply and produces up to 5.8A of output current.

Wide-Band Power Input

Accepting both AC and DC supplies gives the integrator flexibility when bus voltage differs across a machine. The drive handles 24-70VAC as well as 48-110VDC, so the same part can be staged in cabinets where only one supply type is already present.

ProfiNET Networking and Setup

ProfiNET brings deterministic industrial Ethernet to the axis, allowing clean integration with Siemens-style automation. Commissioning is handled on the unit: a keypad and digital tube display configure slave ID, baud rate, and rotation direction without a separate PC tool.

Signal Wiring

Closed-loop control and external safety wiring rely on a defined I/O set.
