The JAND4002-20B-P28 is a 400W 220VAC Servo Drive with an unusually high peak-current capability for its power class. Although rated at 400 W, it can deliver up to 9.6 A maximum output current, which provides ample short-term current for the high accelerations common in fast production axes.

How the Current Rating Helps

Peak current above the rated level improves acceleration torque without requiring a larger motor. On indexing fixtures and pick-and-place axes, this capacity shortens move time and raises throughput without increasing the motor frame size.

Feedback and Command Inputs

The drive reads 17/23-bit absolute encoders for position, so restart does not require a homing sequence. One analog command input accepts -10 V to 10 V, and the P28 variant provides 5 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs for basic axis control signals.

Configuration and Networking

Setup runs over a MicroUSB port; an RS485 interface supports networking with other drives and a host controller.

External Braking Resistor

This P28 model has no built-in braking resistor. Regenerative energy must be absorbed by an external braking resistor, which should be sized to the deceleration energy of the attached load.

Protection Functions

Overvoltage, undervoltage, overspeed, and overload protection are standard, so the drive isolates itself and the motor before a fault can escalate.

Typical Applications

CNC machine tools, factory automation, semiconductor equipment, robotics, battery manufacturing, material handling, and packaging machinery all benefit from this drive’s current headroom.

Selection Considerations

Because the 9.6 A peak is above a typical 400 W motor’s continuous draw, verify the motor’s peak current requirement and cable gauge. Lyenwsin can provide guidance on matching this drive to your chosen servo motor.
