The iHSS57-36-10 is a 57mm closed loop Stepper Motor that packs the driver and the motor into a single 57 mm body with a 56 mm stack length, so the moving axis carries no separate drive unit to mount or cable. It behaves as a closed loop system: a 1000P/R incremental encoder samples the rotor position and feeds corrections back to the controller in real time. Because the drive compensates for step loss instead of only commanding steps, the motor holds its commanded position under varying load without the derating usually imposed by open-loop operation.
Rated at 1.0 N·m holding torque with a 4.0 A phase current, the unit is suited to light to moderate dynamic loads where lost-step rejection matters. The encoder closes the loop frequently, which is short enough to catch slip before it accumulates into a positioning error. Continuous duty is not the same as holding duty, so for sustained motion at speed, sizing should respect the torque-versus-speed curve of the integrated drive rather than the static holding figure. The closed loop control also lowers average current demand compared with a fully energized open-loop step at standstill, which keeps case temperature lower during idle phases and reduces heat conducted into nearby machine frames.
Because this is a short, light-duty model, confirm the 57 mm flange and 56 mm body fit the machine and that the load stays within the running torque at speed.
