The iESS57-36-10-17BC-RC answers a common request from machine builders: a compact axis that can hold position reliably while talking to a PLC over a serial bus. This 1.0 N·m closed loop Stepper Motor fits that role with a 57 mm frame, an integrated drive running from 36 VDC, and a 17-bit absolute encoder for true feedback.
Because the drive is built into the motor housing, there is no external driver to mount, no encoder cable to route, and no signal wiring between a cabinet and the axis. The machine builder connects the DC supply and the RS485+CAN bus, and the axis is ready to be configured from the controller. On machines with many small positioning stations, this cuts assembly time noticeably.
The 17-bit absolute encoder knows the rotor position as soon as power is applied. That removes the homing sequence many open-loop machines need after a restart, which is valuable on indexing wheels, small elevators, and feed mechanisms where every second of downtime counts. The closed loop also corrects missed steps caused by sudden load changes or low-speed resonance.
At 1.0 N·m, this unit is sized for light positioning rather than heavy sustained load.
