The 110J12190EC-1000 is a 3-phase closed-loop stepper motor in a NEMA 42 frame. Its 190 mm body length and 20 N·m holding torque place it at the high-torque end of the NEMA 42 range, a size class normally reserved for machines where load margin is the primary design constraint.
An integrated 1,000 P/R encoder closes the position loop. Where an open-loop stepper can lose steps when the load exceeds torque capacity, the drive here compares commanded and actual rotor position continuously, so transient overloads are corrected rather than accumulated.
The benefit is most visible in applications with variable friction or rapid acceleration profiles, where tuning an open-loop system becomes a compromise between stability and throughput.
