The iHSS86-80-85-RC/EC is an 8.5 N·m Integrated closed loop Stepper Motor in an 86 mm frame, with the fieldbus stepper drive mounted directly on the motor body. This single-unit construction removes the separate driver enclosure that normally consumes panel space, shortens cable runs between driver and motor, and simplifies machine assembly for multi-axis systems.

Motor and Drive in One 86 mm Package

With the drive electronics on the motor, the encoder cable, motor power cable, and signal wiring of a conventional stepper axis are eliminated. Each axis connects to the DC bus and the network, which reduces wiring points, eases service access, and keeps the control cabinet smaller. For machines with several axes, the benefit multiplies with every unit installed.

closed loop Control With 1000 P/R Feedback

A 1000 P/R incremental encoder closes the position loop. Instead of trusting open-loop step counts, the drive monitors actual rotor position and applies real-time error correction. This keeps the axis stable under changing load and reduces missed-step risk at start-stop transitions and during low-speed operation where open-loop steppers are most vulnerable.

Fieldbus Connectivity: RS485, CAN and EtherCAT

Three communication options let the axis join an existing control network without protocol converters.
