The 42J1860EC-1000-LS-SCG is a 2-phase NEMA17 closed-loop stepper motor with an integrated brake. It is rated at 0.7 N·m holding torque with a 1.7 A phase current, uses a 60 mm body and a 5 mm shaft, and carries an integrated 1,000 P/R encoder. This frame size is the workhorse of small-format motion equipment.
The integrated encoder closes the position loop, so the motor corrects step loss instead of stalling silently. For a 0.7 N·m motor this is valuable in applications where the mechanical load changes, such as extrusion feeders and print heads, where an open-loop design would need a large torque reserve.
The holding brake holds the shaft with power off. In medical and inspection equipment this prevents a probe or stage from dropping when power is interrupted, and in 3D printers it keeps the build platform from sinking overnight.
