• Closed-loop control, compact structure, low vibration

The iESSH60-36-30-57-17BC-RC/EC is a 4.0 A closed loop Stepper Motor delivering 3.0 N·m holding torque from a 60 mm frame. The drive electronics sit on the motor body, the unit runs from 36 VDC, and a 17-bit absolute encoder closes the position loop. With RS485+CAN or EtherCAT fieldbus, it is supplied as an integrated axis for industrial automation and packaging lines where lower phase current is preferred for thermal reasons.

Current and Torque Balance

At 4.0 A phase current, the winding copper loss is lower than on the 5.0 A variants of the same frame, which can ease thermal management in enclosures with limited ventilation. The holding torque remains 3.0 N·m, so load capacity is not sacrificed.

Fieldbus and Feedback

RS485+CAN and EtherCAT are both available on this unit. The 17-bit absolute encoder gives immediate rotor position at power-up and eliminates the need for a homing routine after each machine start.

Specifications

  • Frame size: 60 mm
  • Holding torque: 3.0 N·m
  • Supply voltage: 36 VDC
  • Rated current: 4.0 A
  • Fieldbus: RS485 + CAN / EtherCAT
  • Encoder: 17-bit absolute
  • Control: closed loop

Operating Notes

Continuous-duty torque is always below the static holding value; allow heat to leave the 60 mm frame through the mounting flange or with forced airflow. Vibration at medium and low speeds remains low, which matters for machines that run continuously.

Applications

  • Industrial automation
  • Packaging machinery
  • Robotics
  • CNC machine tools

Sizing Guidance

Compare the 4.0 A rating against the peak current your controller can supply and against the torque needed at your operating speed. The lower current variant is a good fit where the enclosure is sealed and heat buildup is a concern, while torque output stays equivalent to the 5.0 A version at 3.0 N·m holding. On machines with tight enclosures, the reduced copper loss also lowers the operating temperature of the drive stage, which supports longer component life. Confirm the controller supports the RS485+CAN or EtherCAT profile before ordering. Ask Lyenwsin for the current-vs-torque curve and fieldbus command list before integration.
