For heavy-duty axes, the iESSH86-80-120-17BC-RC/EC is a 12 N·m Integrated closed loop Stepper that merges an 86 mm motor, its drive, and a 17-bit absolute encoder into a single flange-mounted unit. Operating from 80 VDC at 6.0 A, it communicates over RS485, CAN, or EtherCAT and is supplied as a complete motion component for CNC builders and automation integrators. The 12 N·m rating places it in a torque class that normally requires a separate servo drive, yet here the drive shares the motor frame.

Heavy-Load Construction

By mounting the drive stage on the motor, the machine avoids a separate drive enclosure, the long shielded phase cable, and the matching connector pair. A four-axis machine saves the equivalent of an entire sub-panel in wiring and cabinet space, while each axis remains a single replaceable part. The 86 mm frame provides the mechanical stiffness needed to transmit 12 N·m through ball screws and timing belts.

Fieldbus Integration

RS485, CAN, and EtherCAT are supported on the -RC/EC variant. EtherCAT suits synchronized multi-axis motion; RS485 and CAN serve standalone or legacy-controlled equipment.

closed loop Precision

The 17-bit absolute encoder resolves rotor position to high precision and retains it across power cycles. The closed loop corrects step loss in real time and holds position at standstill, which matters for heavy tables and gantry axes where inertia is high.

Specifications

  • Frame size: 86 mm
  • Holding torque: 12 N·m
  • Supply voltage: 80 VDC
  • Rated current: 6.0 A
  • Fieldbus: RS485 + CAN / EtherCAT
  • Encoder: 17-bit absolute
  • Control mode: closed loop
  • Design: compact, low vibration

Applications

Industrial automation, packaging machinery, robotics, and CNC machine tools. The torque level suits heavy indexing tables, large gantry axes, rotary tables, and CNC feed axes with modest speed requirements, where the integrated unit replaces a more expensive servo arrangement.

Engineering Notes

Provide a regulated 80 VDC bus capable of the 6.0 A peak current, and plan heat rejection through the mounting surface. For ball-screw axes, check the inertia ratio against the datasheet before final selection. Contact Lyenwsin for the torque-speed envelope, dimensional drawing, and commissioning support.
