The iESSH86-80-85-17BC-RC/EC is an Integrated Stepper Motor With EtherCAT fieldbus and an 86 mm frame rated at 8.5 N·m holding torque. Drive electronics, a 17-bit absolute encoder, and the motor share one body, powered from 80 VDC at 6.0 A, with RS485 and CAN available in addition to EtherCAT. As a distributor-supplied motion component, the unit gives machine builders an 8.5 N·m axis that mounts as a single part and connects with one fieldbus cable.

Cabinet Space and Wiring Savings

Because the drive is on the motor, the control cabinet needs no slot for a separate driver and no long shielded motor cable. Each axis is one stocked item rather than a motor plus a matched drive, which simplifies spares inventory and shortens build time on large machines.

Multi-Protocol Control

EtherCAT is the primary interface for synchronized motion, while RS485 and CAN cover simpler or legacy bus layouts. Motion commands, status, and tuning parameters travel over the bus, so adjustments are made from the controller without opening the panel.

Absolute Feedback and Loop Response

The 17-bit absolute encoder provides high-resolution position data and holds the axis position after power loss. The on-board closed loop continuously corrects step error, keeping positioning repeatable in packaging and robotic cells where friction and load change between cycles.

Specifications

  • Frame size: 86 mm
  • Holding torque: 8.5 N·m
  • Supply voltage: 80 VDC
  • Rated current: 6.0 A
  • Fieldbus: RS485 + CAN / EtherCAT
  • Encoder: 17-bit absolute
  • Control mode: closed loop

Applications

The 8.5 N·m class handles mid-size axes, rotary mechanisms, indexing devices, and packaging machinery, as well as CNC machine tools and industrial automation stations that do not justify a dedicated servo drive.

Installation Notes

Confirm the 80 VDC supply and bus wiring per the manual. Since drive and motor share the frame, plan for heat rejection through the mounting surface, and avoid covering the housing with insulation. Lyenwsin can provide the datasheet, torque-speed curve, and connector layout to support integration.
